Santa Fe Holding Company, Inc. Announced Today That It Has Broken Ground on its 25th Store Located in McComb, MS

BRENTWOOD, TN, Jan 29, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Santa Fe Holding Co., Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SFHD), Santa Fe Holding Company, parent company to the Santa Fe Cattle Co. restaurant chain, announced today that it has broken ground on its 25th store located in McComb, MS. Santa Fe Holding Co. is a restaurant holding company which currently owns and operates 21 Santa Fe Cattle Co. restaurants located throughout 7 states.

Danny York, Chairman of the company, was at the ground breaking and did an interview with the local paper and radio station. The store will be built by Clark Construction which is based in McComb, MS. Clark Construction is also currently building a restaurant for Santa Fe in Ardmore, Ok. This will be the 3rd location for the company in the state of Mississippi. In explaining why they are high on Mississippi, York went on to say, "We recently opened a store in Columbus and it broke every sales record in our history, so we are very bullish on the state of Mississippi." The McComb restaurant on Apache Drive is the company's third in Mississippi, with the others located in Columbus and Tupelo. Mr. York also added that the company is looking at several other locations in Mississippi at this time.

The company currently has 21 locations open with four new locations under construction and 5 additional locations contracted and ready to break ground during the next two quarters. Santa Fe Cattle Co. is one of the fastest growing concepts in the restaurant industry, ending 2007 with total revenue up more than 57% over last year.
